is actually a mixture of three or more minerals. Its main
constituent is blue
lazurite, accompanied by calcite and pyrite.
Lapis
Lazuli gets its name from the Persian word "Lazhward", meaning
blue.
Afghanistan has been the primary source for Lapis Lazuli for over
6,000 years, but it has also been found in California, Colorado and Siberia.
