Zircon
Because of
its resemblance to Diamonds,
Zircon
has been mistaken for them accidentally as well as intentionally. They are
colorless when pure and derive any color that they have from impurities they
contain.
Zircon derives its name from the Arabic word
"zargun", which was a derivative of the Persian word for "gold
color".
Zircon was believed to provide the wearer with wisdom,
honor and riches, and loss of its luster was said to be a warning of danger.
